These boxes are quite strange contraptions indeed. One press of the button, and wondrous events can occur...at a cost. Everyone seems to have an opinion as to the nature of the boxes and what one should do with one's own box ( Read more... )

One can seek advice on such matters, but the decision must rest with the individual. Having someone make a decision for you is cowardly or ignorant, depending on the mentality of the person allowing such a thing to occur.

That's what I was thinking, too. In our daily lives we often unwittingly make decisions for others, sometimes with equally undesirable effects. I think the City is asking us who we think we are.

Sometimes, we do have to make decisions for others. My wife and I, for example, make decisions for others often at home - but we are rulers of a country. We have to make decisions based on what we feel is best for a nation. Sometimes, they are favorable, and sometimes they do not work out as we intend. But the responsibility ultimately lies with us.
