Comfort- Tara has realized over the last few months that Taeko is not the sweet and comforting person she needs at this moment but when Taeko presses her lips to the paper cut Tara doesn't care.
Kiss- The kiss was awkward, initiated by Tara tripping, once again, and falling into Taeko, who simply pushed her and walked away.
Soft- The cat, which Tara uses her puppy-dog eyes with to get Taeko to keep, seems to be the softest thing Taeko has ever touched until her hand glides through Tara’s blonde hair.
Pain- Pain was Taeko missing her birthday because of a business engagement and the pleasure was the five foot teddy bear Taeko left on her bed in apology.
Potatoes- Taeko hates potatoes and Tara loves them, which means Taeko will love them in a couple of days.
Rain- Rain is hell on the school uniform and it is worth it, Tara decides, as she notices that Taeko wears Hello Kitty underwear.
Chocolate- Tara sits up with blood shot eyes and chocolate ice cream, ready for Taeko to call with one of her excuses and chew her out, but when she does, Tara's throat goes numb and all she can say is "I miss you."
Happiness- "Unbridled happiness is..." Tara isn't that great with explaining things so she leans over and kisses Taeko on the cheek "That."
Telephone- Tara murmurs something under her breath as Taeko answers the phone for the umpteenth time, "This is supposed to be a date."
Ears- "Mimi," Taeko says, as she tugs at Tara's ears," Japanese for ears" and Tara can't help but repeat it.
Name- "Taeko, Taeko, Taeko," Tara mimics, during the fourth day of their fight, as she shoves her books into her bag roughly, "I want to get that stupid name out of my head!"
Sensual- After many tries, and awkward bumps, they kiss without being interrupted and Tara realizes that Taeko’s sarcastic mouth is quite sensual.
Death- "You almost died," Tara murmurs into the hospital sheets and all Taeko can say is "Pah-shaw."
Sex- "Swords are sexual," Taeko replied, haughtily, "Haven't you ever heard of "sheathing the blade?"
Touch- Taeko is hot to the touch, and it makes Tara feel cold until Taeko wraps her arms around her.
Weakness- Tara knew Taeko's weakness is her heart, she just hadn't realized it had actually broken.
Tears- Tara's tears are salty but she continues to kiss her cheeks until everything is better.
Speed- Both hearts are beating at an incredible speed and they can't wait for their brains to catch up.
Wind- The wind is soft, and picks up Tara's hair in an updraft and she secretly wishes that it would stay down like Taeko's long braid.
Freedom- Tara is yelling 'freedom' at the top of her lungs on the last day of school so loudly that she doesn't hear Taeko say she has to go back to Japan soon.
Life- "So, balance is the key to life?" Tara asks as she slips off of the curb into Taeko's arms, "Whatever."
Jealousy- Tara keeps reminding herself that she isn't jealous when she sees Traci hugging Taeko, even though her hands are balled into fists and ready to kill.
Hands- Taeko's hands are calloused and bruised from swords and mistakes but whenever she touches Tara, they feel like electric jolts.
Taste- "It tastes like chicken," Tara murmurs as Taeko mentions that it's octopus.
Devotion- Tara watches as Taeko paces the floor with her sword and wishes that Taeko had that much devotion towards her.
Forever- Taeko doesn't realize it, but in the back of her mind she will always think of Tara in her bathing suit.
Blood- The first time Tara sees Taeko bleed she panics, not at the blood, but the fact that Taeko hasn't felt the pain yet.
Sickness- Tara really hadn't meant to give Taeko pink eye, but she didn't regret it long when she was invited to be sick with her in bed.
Melody- When Taeko falls asleep first; Tara rests her head Taeko's chest and hums a melody to her heartbeat.
Star- Tara is speechless at the size of the diamond of the star-shaped pendant on the gold necklace Taeko offers as a birthday present.
Home- For Taeko, home is Japan, and for Tara, home is anywhere she can be with Taeko.
Confusion- Tara stares at Taeko, lying on the bed nonchalantly before asking, "How am I like Octopus balls?" in a tight voice.
Fear- Tara is scared of spiders and Taeko hates lightning, but now they have each other to be fearless with.
Lightning/Thunder- Taeko can remember when she had only herself and her tears to cope with the noise and is glad that she has Tara to hold on to.
Bonds- Taeko tries her hardest to explain the situation when she is forced to tell how she and Tara glued themselves together and fails miserably.
Market- Tara hadn't meant to stalk Taeko and her maid in the supermarket but she was glad to find out that Taeko was more of a macadamia nut girl, than a chocolate chip person.
Technology- The first night, Tara stayed up with her mother and the internet, trying to cope with the fact that she is gay and only wants to be with Taeko.
Gift- "How are they gifts?" Taeko ponders as Tara fills the room with bouquets of flowers, "You do know I'm allergic, right?"
Smile- Tara smiles at the sound of Traci and Taeko fighting because this is the only time things seem normal.
Innocence- "So, how far have you two gotten?" Traci asks as Tara blushes and Taeko responds with a "Go to hell, vampire slut" and walks away.
Completion- Taeko doesn't have the heart to tell Tara that she only has a few more weeks in America, before being shipped back out of the country.
Clouds- "Don't you think that cloud looks like a kitty?" Tara asks gleefully to the pessimistic Taeko who dutifully responds, "No, it looks like a cloud."
Sky- "Let's go sky-diving," Traci suggests, as the comment falls on deaf ears, "... Hey, you two, this vacation isn't for you to explore each others tonsils!"
Heaven- "This place is heaven!" Tara screams in Taeko's ears as they enter the candy store, "Can I really get whatever I want?"
Hell- "Shouldn't you be guarding the gates of Hell," Taeko slyly comments to her Grandfather after he mildly insults Tara.
Sun- The land of the rising Sun is interrupted by the screams of a foreigner and a young girl in a prestigious high school uniform.
Moon- The moon casts an eerie glow into the hospital room as Taeko wonders if this is the karmic equivalent to telling Tara to go to hell.
Waves- Wave after wave of pain shoots down Tara's body as Taeko refuses her friendship after realizing her sexuality.
Hair- The first time Tara pulls her hair into a braid like Taeko's she feels a little lackluster and decides that acting like her won't solve their problem.
Supernova- "You know, you guys' relationship is kind of like a star: You come together, you create something wonderful, and then you explode and never see each other again while creating a big spectacle of yourselves,” Traci muses as Tara burst into more sobs, "Oops."
