Standing in the rubble of rock and twisted iron Marcus head the sound of gun shoots form the high hills. He turned to Rigel and grabbed his arm. "Humans!" he hissed in anger. "Get Viktor and tell him Humans." He then turned and ran towards the gun fire.
Halfway there he ran into Soren and Nathaniel. Nathaniel was yelling at the hillside and into the trees. "You'll pay for this yet you bastards! If its the last thing I do in this life!"
Marucs saw that Sornen was fine with only a few red spots from UV light. He pulled Nathaniel to face him, he too had the same red spots. "Soren go the med lab. and get checked out. Take this one with you." He leaned over and kissed Soren on the cheek. "I was worried."
For once, Luck offered her wayward assistance to Nathaniel and Soren, and they reached the formerly safe mansion. But still the first faint rays of real sunlight were peeking over the horizon.
"I was worried."
The janissary quickly moved to Marcus's side and grasped his hand. "It's alright, I'm fine."
"Soren go the med lab. and get checked out. Take this one with you."
"There's no time, Marcus!" Soren exclaimed, grasping Marcus's hands tighter, almost urgently. "It's almost dawn, and we all need to get to safety...if that's even possible now. Those so-called holy men knew exactly what to do because Selene was an informat for them. And worse, it seems these people have even more UV technology than the lycans."

Alarm bells went off in Nathaniel's head as he shook of his anger at the humans and realised that what Soren said was true.
"Bullocks!"
He looked around at the surrounding carnage, they all had to get to the caves - now.
His heart leapt as he realised that Skye was still in the infirmary with his patients. Nathnaiel needed to have his lover near him so that he could protect him - he didn't want him to be trapped defencelessly in the mansion.
"My Lord, with your permission I would like to evacuate the infirmary and move them to the caves. These humans can move around in the daylight and I don't like the idea of them being trapped in the mansion alone without any defences."
Then as he thought about the number of casaulties and how close that daylight was he reconsidered that idea.
"No. I will go up there my lord with a few of the surviving warriors with your leave. There will probably be too many injured to move them before sunrise."
"Yes Son, Go and take who and what you need. Get everyone to safety." Marcus commanded Nathaniel as he held on to Soren's hand. "please make sure the Master healer is safe we need Skye, and make sure he is catacombs." Looking into Soren's eyes Marcus smiled. "I am glad your safe. Now make sure everyone is down below, and find and drag Viktor down there as well. Tell him what I am up to."
Marcus reached up and caressed the black locks then following to the pale cheek. With a smile he mouthed the words, "I Love You."
Looking at the pale sky Marcus patted the boy on the ass and told him go.
Nathaniel finally managed to shake himself from his stupor at the words and the lightening Sky. Kraven had taken off with the mortal anyway, so there was no reason to be standing about idle.
Tearing his eyes away from Rigel, he turned and went into the mansion. His feet leading him to the infirmary wing.
The place was in chaos, the dead, injured and dying littering the floors because there were no longer any beds.
He had to find Skye, his eyes scanned the room for his blond haired lover.

Nathaniel breathed in the man's reassuring scent as he held him tight, suprised by Skye's very public display of affection.
The man was clearly at the end of his endurance as was revealed by his words.
"So much death! Too much Nathaniel! So many vampires!"
Nathaniel pressed a kiss to Skye's forehead as he rubbed reassuring hands up and down his lover's back.
Even as he looked around and took in the extent of the chaos himself.
He wiped a smear of blood from Skye's cheek.
"I know, but as long as we have each other, we will endure. Weather this tragedy."
"Kill him! Kill that lycan dog! Hunt him down!"
Nathaniel tucked a look of blond hair behind his lover's ear.
"It's not him. This was not done by him...we overestimate him it seems. It was humans who did this - priests!"
