I certainly don't write as much as you, but when I'm doing schoolwork I have to move around in the same way. I generally start at the table, then go to the couch, then the floor, then maybe back to the table, then the steps, then the floor, then the floor in the next room in the space of several hours. I can never work on my bed. The more uncomfortable the place is the better I work.

Hello. I know this isn't about your recent post, but your blog came up when I queried Lymond. I got a chance to meet Dame Dunnett right before she died which was one of my most outstanding days. She was an exceptionally gifted woman and it makes my brain hurt just trying to imagine writing what she wrote without a computer for research and outlining. She was a genius, and I am sad she was not more recognized than by those of us in the all-too-secret Lymond cult. I wish I could turn on more people with the sharing of these magnificent books. Glad to see there are still some people out there with a similar passion for picturesque prose, dazzling dialogue and incredible characterizations.
