Unexpected Adventure Riding

Went for an interesting ride today. I wanted to get some BW3s (on the North side of town), so I rode my bike South past Pottstown, down to 116, and over toward Hanna City. I got sick of that and turned North down Greengold Road. Heading down this road, I crested a hill and pretty much landed on gravel. No biggie, just unexpected. Turned the corner and the road started becoming more dirt. I came upon a steep hill going down, a small, poorly maintained bridge, and then a steep hill back up. Before I decided taking this hill on my cruiser was a bad idea, I was already heading down and couldn't really turn around.

Going down wasn't too bad. Some loose dust in tire ruts, but nothing I couldn't handle. I did grab too much front brake early on, but I caught my mistake before locking up my wheel. Going up was a bit harder as the dust gave way to small rocks.

I got up on the other side and the road just kept getting more narrow and I couldn't see where it was headed, so I turned around. Better tackle the hill I know than getting stuck somewhere else. Going down the rocky side was difficult and I almost lost it going up the dirt side. All in all, though, I enjoyed the impromptu offroading.

Here's a picture of the hill, but it didn't come out too well. Doesn't give a sense of how steep the hill was (you can only see about half way down the hill).

Here's a map of the location. You can see that the road connects to another one further down, so I want to go back and explore some more.

I pulled into BW3s eventually and noticed that the nut holding my right front turn signal disappeared. Hmm. Guess I need to find a new one before riding up to Chicago tomorrow.
