I was also thinking since you haven't touched it, but don't you think Central 46 were a bunch of jerks and ended up cheering Aizen for killing them? It seems like the shinigami seem to live behind the walls of seiretei and not give a damn about what happens beyond those walls, and soul society is the good place to go when you die? I do get the feeling though that a few of the shinigami do want to help out beyond the walls since I couldn't picture them ignoring the stuff that goes on.
Also is it possible for hollows and arrancar to subsist on other things and not have to do what they do? Makes me hope Mayuri figure something out which ironically makes him more heroic than the leadership. Makes me think at times Aizen is not much worse than the current situation of "worst afterlife ever".

I didn't really want to get into Central 46 in this because they are their own can of worms by themselves, and also they're now dead and out of the picture. It's up to the current captains to see if they wish to uphold their fascism or not.
And the fact that Soul Society has its own sufferings that could be just as worse as anything in Hueco Mundo was what I was trying to convey in the Rukongai paragraph, yes.
Also, I don't really think it's feasible to try to get hollows to eat something else. Arrancar already do, they eat other hollows most likely; human souls are so weak that it's disgusting to them (see what Ulquiorra said to Yammy after he ate all the souls in Karakura in their first appearance). The hollows that eat human souls, again with the occasional exception, are running on instinct. And I don't think they would be "tame-able" to where you could teach them to eat another food source. Souls are an intrinsic part of their makeup, and therefore, the need to feed on them is just as intrinsic.

It just seems like bigotry in a way for hating hollows who are for the most part non sentinent. It seems like hating a predator for eating its prey. Now how do modsouls fit into this and could they be created as a food source? Also Arrancar aren't completly evil, Nel being the bigget example of that.
Makes me want to see Orihime ending up running everything in the end with her powers and change the rules since she definately would not accept suffering of any being.
Also how did IchibanCon go? I got in contact with Skye online and she said it went great. I am hoping to take a day trip to NashiCon in April. I just hope everything is going well for you. Also capslock bleach had another Taco Aizen moment.
Maybe they feel that sorrow for the more animal-like hollows will weaken the resolve of the reapers so they teach hate in order to avoid injuries when facing a more intelligent hollow. Ichigo has sympathy for the hollows even though everything tells him that he should not thats what I like about him.
I do, too. That's one thing I have noticed about Ichigo. Normally, I'm not the biggest fan of the "hero" in Shounen series, but I make a big exception for Ichigo.
I was wondering in your thought if you are making a post on the last chapter since it seems like a big wham one. I made a post with my thoughts on it, also a few theories that there is another reason for what happened that I have seen pop up.
Take care of yourself and wish me luck on an interview next week.
