USxUK 2014 Calendar- Potential options?
Hello everyone! Around the end of January this year, the US postal service drastically upped their shipping rates. While I used to able to send calendars out for under nine dollars, it now costs over sixteen to do it internationally. That's over twice what I used to charge for it AND it's more than the price of the calendar itself. I don't feel it's feasible to do the calendar project again with shipping that high, but due to a couple of suggestions on tumblr, I do have another idea.
The idea would be a digital calendar. This calendar would be done as 'wallpapers' for each month of the year, and of course you'd be more than welcome to print out said wallpapers and make a physical calendar out of them as well. The calendar would be free of charge, and anyone would be able to download it.
We'd need twelve artists for it. I've mulled on it, and I can't really think of a way to get our normal twenty-five artists in (if anyone has any suggestions though, I'd love to hear them!).
There are some ideas as to what I mean by 'calendar wallpaper' HERE. It does not need to be elaborate. Something like the artwork with the calendar over it like the 'awaiting rebirth' one would be more than welcome (although you're also free to go all out!). Artists could make their own calendar wallpaper with their art, or they can submit their art and we'll do it for them (in that case we'd do something basic like the as mentioned 'rebirth' one, because we don't want to do much to your art!). And of course all wallpapers will need to be made in multiple resolutions for our varying screen sizes.
