Black Sun Rising

The group slowly approached a group of hills, sandy, and looking like no sentient being had ever walked there. The rusty broken stones and gravel gave way to a weathered pass, the ground dusty and the air seemed not to move in the heat, as they moved along - after about two dozen meters, a pair of eye-shaped metal plates seemed to appear one on ( Read more... )

Shan ceased grumbling on reaching Hold. Shan's goons looked relieved and fell into a single-file line behind him, a little too perfectly. He shot them a look and they shuffled and varied their pace a little more.

As they were led into the room of polished stone, he stood more or less at a parade rest, looking no more or less ill at ease with his surroundings than was *normal* - which was to say, irritated, but comfortable in his level of irritation.

His antennae however stood at attention, twitching noticeably.

He turned his head, scowled at his goons, and waved his hand behind his back as if to say "look casual". They nodded, creepily, in unison.

After they reached Hold, Connor tapped Kinnara's hand lightly.

She nodded solemnly, and tugged at her daypack strap, giving a tight closed-mouth grin as she did so. She mouthed the words "I have beam boosters".

AJ hung out at the back of the group. She watched the coordination and general feeling of creepy roboticism of Lt. Cdr. Shan's tactical team, laughed a little to herself and said "We can always threaten to *assimilate* the bad guys".

OOC: OK, we're waiting, everyone I manage is here, got somewhere we're going?

"If anyone starts assimilating anything or one, I will be putting bullets into heads," Diziara muttered and started pacing the room to check out exit options, tactical advantages, and see what the hell they were dealing with. As the lack of furnishing and much of anything else left her feeling like about the only tactical advantage she might have would be ducking for cover behind one of the blue bastard's goon squad and whipping out her Glock, she eventually fell to the back of the group to wait. Brooding quietly, she blindly felt up the gun tucked into her pants at the small of her back to reassure herself it was still there and in working order.

After a few minutes a pair of giant wide shouldered men in what look like large and long trench coats and metal face masks with small circular optics walk up, each having an arm that seems chomed and augmented, and made into a projectile weapon of some sort, they approach the door, enter and flank it, as a tan-skinned man with a smiling face and a metallic eye, who walks in with his arms wide, "Welcome to Black Sun Hold, ladies and gentlebeings. I must ask that you pardon our security force, they are trained to operate on very simple parameters, and to set your minds at ease, we have no intention of augmenting or modifying anyone's physicalities in any way. No, we are not some mad scientist's answer to the Borg, far from it. Each component is made for the person that needs it, and wants it. And they must be both ( ... )

"No, I'm the OTHER Mister Shrav," the unkempt Andorian says, with a slight sneer. He pulls out his boot knife and begins picking his teeth. He mutters about "pinkskins" and "small talk", and gives a small look and nod to Kinnara while doing so. As the men shuffle out of the room, he puts his knife away and Shrav becomes Shan once again... although Kinnara has actually seen Shan pick his teeth with his knife before ( ... )
