So basically, you'd add more experience to your resume, and get to enjoy your severance pay in full after that? That sounds like a pretty good deal to me -- but make sure you get it in writing! And afterwards, you could apply for a consultancy job with the scanning partner! ;)
Indeed, so I would gladly take that. If they're not going for it, I'll need to reconsider. Or get paid more than I do now, which wouldn't be unreasonable either, because the work I do and will be doing is not reflected in my pay grade, as I'm still an archive employee instead of a project manager. The latter comes with a better pay grade. And the writing part is being figured out. At least that's what they told me. Not going anywhere without it being sorted.
And yes I did. Sorry it slipped through the cracks. I would like to go on Saturday as I might be working Friday and will be on Monday. Which makes Sunday doable but not preferable. One question though: what time are you planning on being back in Nijmegen? Looks like my last train goes 23.42 both days. Is that feasible?
Not going anywhere without it being sorted. Good call.
So Saturday it is! We would like to leave about 10:00ish at Nijmegen, which has us in Essen somewhere between 11:00 and 11:30. That should get rid of the worst crowds that waited to get in before opening time. Last year, we went back around 16:30 -- because all this Spiel is tiring business! Your last train is certainly doable, and I presume you'll be dining with us? Do make sure you buy a ticket online beforehand, because waiting in line to buy a ticket to get inside is a waste of time if it can be avoided.

(Unrelated: did you get my mail about Spiel?)
