Army Logistics

I'm currently taking one of my JPME courses, and I got tagged as the Deputy J4 for a group exercise. I'm fairly well versed in Navy and Marine logistics, but not Army. The guy who's been tagged as the Task Force Commander is Army, and I'm guessing he'll want to do Army-centric "stuff" for the exercise ( Read more... )

On a boat... A big boat. And lots of connexs... At least that's how we moved everything from Korea to Iraq, with 2ID in 2004. That said, nowadays it's more of a leave it in country, and the incoming units fall onto that.

But depending on how far you're moving and what it is. If it's mech, drive it there, or line haul it.

Rail. The army puts it on a railhead and then it's the Navy's problem

Well depending on how far you are going, if you are going a short distance as someone already said you can road march it, or if you have to go a medium distance BFVs are usually moved on a het (Hemtt)

when I went to Iraq from Ft. Lewis we had shipped all of our Strykers and our spare stuff (c-bags, tents, etc) by boat and the con-exes was there when we got there (but we started with tents.)
