Huh. Guess it must be one of those days. I just read a gay-rights activists article prior to this and unfortunately also checked out the comment section. How can ppl be so stupid and ignorant? How long do we have to explain until they stop equalizing gays with pedophiles and zoophiles etc. BLAAH. Sometimes I wonder if it's really that had to empathize and see things from another persons point of view? And what does it matter what color is a person's skin or what willing and legal citizen he/she fucks as long as he/she is a great person?

Just listened to the first few minutes of the first part of this and am gobsmacked that woman still has a job. I stopped at the amazing arrogance of interrupting that caller to tell her that her neighbour was not being racist by saying you black like this and you blacks do that.... The very fact that the neighbour was saying that was a perfect demonstration of racist attitudes - clearly separating 'us white/normal' people from those 'black/abnormal' people. Insidious, probably unintentional and ignorant, but precisely the kind of thinking that helped the Nazis convince people that it was ok to treat gypsies, gays, Jews as not only different but somehow inferior and less human.
It wasn't so much her using the word nigger it was the whole attitude that was clearly WRONG.
And the really stupid thing is - her employers haven't given her the boot.

HA - I clicked, didn't notice it was not your journal, and thought WOW he's got a LOT of friends who like to talk, and some of them are real assholes! :D My apologies to you and your charming flist.

That woman is beyond helping at this point - I gave up on her when she opened her mouth about homosexuals (and several other things). Why she's still employed today, I have no idea.
