I know some of your probs don't agree with me not letting tiana go to africa, i just couldn't do it. There is no fucking way i am letting a man that has treated me with such disrespect for the last 5 years and not followed court orders...not even POLICE orders take tiana to africa...I mean seriously! For what it's worth hun, I think you are doing the right thing. It isn't as simple as letting her go on a holiday with her dad.
There are over 90 cases a year of parental abduction of Australian children. I think you are right to be overprotective... Imagine if you were blase about it and she didn't return?? You would never forgive yourself.
I think there are cases where it is right to be overprotective and although it may mean Tiana missing out on a beautiful experience I think you should stand your ground

thanks kris, means a lot. I think what nikki said just shook me up a bit, because you of all people know that i have PUSHED the fact that she needs to know her culture etc. I have asked him to teach her his language, he hasn't, I TOLD him that they do french at her school but i couldn't afford the extra for it, he never offered to pay it.
I have a REALLY bad feeling about it...And last night i googled female circcumcision in africa...HIS country was the FIRST on the list that does it, and from ages 4-10 *sigh*

like you said none of the countries in africa have any kind of agreement with the Australian government for things like that. If he WANTED to he could disappear forever and no-one would really do a thing about it. *shrug*

I wouldnt let her go either Mel. I didnt read all of the post so im not sure what happened but i think you have every right to be concerned.

I didn't see what Nikki said hun cos I haven't been in Yams much (I'm assuming thats where she said it) but I totally say you are his prime carer and you are the closest person to her. If your gut instinct says not to let her go then fight it to the death.
