I'm kind of a sucker for the bleak, post-apocalyptic feel. It's not something I think we'll ever actually see on the show, but I like the idea. So, I'm really happy this worked for you! Thank you so much!

On the whole I'm pretty pleased with it. I gotta say, writing this was definitely a learning experience! It was a good one, though. :D It's weird to step out of my crack-filled comfort zone, but I think ultimately worth it.

Also, I still can't thank you enough for looking over it and I'm really glad you liked it!

This is fantastic! I just loved the Dean and Castiel interactions and the slow unfurling of what actually was going on.... and especially after Dean was recovered, the way his experiences still haunted him in his reactions to people and to noise, and of course the ending. Oh yes. It PLEASES me. Wonderful, wonderful work.

Now I want to go all thinky-thoughts because--yes. Dean's reactions in the last bit were totally self-indulgent. First, the fic was kind of spin off reaction piece to dream sequences on the show like the djinn ep. I had this idea that involved Dean getting sucked into a dream world that wasn't his idea of a good life. I figured it would take Dean a while to catch on because he expects to be miserable and maybe also kind of expects to fail.

And, also, on the show they don't really have time to deal with the aftereffects of a dream scenario like that and I wanted show Dean's brain catching up with the fact he wasn't still dreaming. Reintegrating into society as it were.

Which is all by way of saying, "Yay! I'm happy that worked for you!" Seriously, you have no idea. :D Also: I babble.
