Another one of your fancy trinkets, huh, Doc?

[Applejack can't even pretend to understand half the things he owns/describes/talks about, but that doesn't prevent her from being interested.]

'Sonic'. As in 'uses sound'.

[He'll just tap that button a couple more times to hammer the point home. Bzz bzz.]

Sycorax? Cybermen? Daleks? Are these monsters from your world?

[Count Twilight interested. Doubly so when she sees that device.]

And why is that object so important? Is it a powerful weapon of some kind? Maybe a sealing device?

[Very interested.]

Monsters? No, no, no, at least not in the technical sense. In the sense of morality, genocidal tendencies and such, then yes. Yes, monsters might actually be a good word.

And no, it's not a weapon--doesn't maim, wound, or kill. It's a sonic screwdriver.

I... think that's an acceptable secondary definition. [And not really one she wants to think about.]

... I'll admit to being a little confused. How does one use sound to perform any sort of action similar to a screwdriver?

No on both, it's a sonic screwdriver.

Sonic sonic! Is that why it doesn't have a pointy bit like a regular screwdriver? Is that why it glows and goes bzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz (His best attempt at imitating the noise)

I don't get why "angel" is on your list. Aren't angels Christmas-y too?
