[ about to remark that his gear is on - clearly he hasn't noticed - Rise ends up clamming up, watching him with a pensive frown. She knows that determination, all too well.

But the way he's going about it... and why--

She'll wait until the final landing. ]

Yagyuu-kun?

[It's a while before he finally gets back to his gear, largely because he wasn't aware that it was recording - thank you, Thalassa, for indulging in that mischief while he wasn't looking - and after he came down from his successful flight, he ended up just sitting on the beach for a while, watching the waves and stewing in silence, and resisting the temptation to pull a white wig out from where it's safely stowed in his backpack.]

...Did you need something, Kujikawa-san? I'm still not yet back to Goldenrod, so if it's a personal errand, I'm afraid I won't be of much help at the moment.

I guess you never found out you were recording, huh?

[Dot. Dot. Freaking dot. And then, epiphany.]

Thalassa got into my bag, did she?

[The ironic thing is, Shishido's intuition is correct; Yagyuu isn't the type to let himself get so mussed. Nor is he the type to get upset, or angry, or frustrated. He's certainly not the type to seek physical relief for pent-up emotion, relentlessly pursuing the release that comes from aching muscles and stinging limbs. That's not how someone like Yagyuu would deal with things. That's not like Yagyuu at all.

Which is where the irony kicks in, because it turns out Yagyuu really doesn't want to be himself today.]

Thalassa got into my bag, I see. Hello, Shishido-kun. I didn't realize this was recording.

It's one of the prizes of defeating the Cianwood Gym. It'd be a pity to let such a useful skill go to waste.

The radio broadcast said Saffron City, out east. I'm not sure if they're one and the same.

Decidedly so. Supposedly the train is running out of the station in Goldenrod City; it seems they're finally going to put it to some use, after all.

Well done. It'll be good to have you back. I have heard that rumor, yes.

It's interesting, isn't it? And perhaps worth looking into.

I'm not sure we've completely conquered this area. But it's true, it could be interesting.
