[ Quistis is perched in a tree, just above Skarmory's head, and seems to be eating jerky. She looks energetic. ]

Half a day out of Cherrygrove, now, and I think I'm making decent time. I hear the trip takes about a week. [ A mischievous smile. ] I'll be there by Friday afternoon. At least, I'd better be. I don't think I can afford to pay up on ( Read more... )

The Pokémon Centers and the Pokémarts generally offer work to trainers. The pay is not the best, and you can get in trouble for leaving too quickly, but it's more efficient than battling other trainers.

There's a minimum employment time, I take it? Makes sense.

[He nods.] Five days, if I remember well. Leaving early is considered a criminal offense, and the warrants last longer than what little time you would save.

I once got a job filing papers at the Pokémon Center in Violet.

Paperwork. [ A rueful smile. ] Not my favourite, but I'm good at it. What was the pay like?

Pretty good! I got plenty to live off of working for just three days.

[in Soraspeak, he got enough to eat at the café every day for a little while. best week or so ever.]

Do you do a lot of paperwork back home or something?

Not bad at all, then.

I did my fair share, certainly. I served and taught at a military academy; there were plenty of reports to be filled out, handed in and filed.

[ A smile. ] I'll be happy to help out at the Pokémon Center in Violet when I arrive. I could use the help as much as they could, I imagine, since I just got here.

There are multiple options, depending on whether you prefer desk work or working in restaurants.

... I have to pick? [ She laughs. ] I can't say I'm a fan of either, but I'd rather do desk work - at least I know I'm good at it.

I'd recommend the Pokémon Center, then.

I'm considering it, once I arrive in Violet. It seems like there would be a lot of advantages; besides the money, I'd have a chance to learn a lot more about Pokémon.

Well as long as you don't get randomly warped anywhere, you'll probably make it by friday. G'luck with that.

I'unno. I've been here almost two weeks maybe? But I was almost to Violet City, then I ended up on the OTHER side of Violet City. And I couldn't remember the last 3 days.

I don't think it happens a lot. it was just weird.
