Having known Kurogane from before Johto, it's only natural that he's the person Fay spends the majority of his time with. They arrived at the same time and in the same place. Just as he always did, Fay enjoys teasing him - it's both fun to get a reaction from him and use it as a means to keep his distance. Teasing breaks the focus from anyone learning about what Fay is really like. At the same time, though, Fay knows something is different about Kurogane. He can't quite place what it is, but there's something that's being withheld from him - and Fay's not really sure whether or not he really wants to know what that is.
