So I heard a little talk about the series Once Upon a Time around LJ and, being a big fan of fairy tales, decided to check it out myself. I recorded Sunday's new episode, but didn't get around to watch it until today before work. And it was good, I liked it. I can't say much about it yet, though, since I missed the first two episodes. But I might ( Read more... )

stories, once upon a time, real life

I haven't seen the first one all the way through, but I've watched two and three and really have been enjoying it so far. It's not the most intellectually stimulating thing around xD And some of the characters still feel kind of cold and confusing, but -eh- it's only been 3 episodes. It can get better hopefully.

You could always try a writing comm if you want a blank journal to archive everything to. I have one. Lord knows I haven't updated in ages though (since that Prep & Landing fic actually). But I really need to get back to writing. I haven't written ANYTHING in so long because I've been trying to keep my head above water in school.

Yeah, some characters do seem a little cold, but I'm gonna say it's because of the curse lol So hopefully they'll bet better.

I tried having a comm journal once, but I didn't really like having two journals to take care of lol (I mean, I barely do anything with this, I don't need two to neglect XD). The only reason I'm backdating the stories is because I'm embarrassed by them lol

Yeah, I agree. I'm assuming it's the curse too. Or at least hoping it's intentional. I do find the mayor's coldness intriguing though. One minute she's sooo cold, but then there's glimpses of warmth like she actually wants to care for Henry and it's just...idk how to describe it. Right now my favorite character is Snow. At least in the present world. I was really thrown by the whole outlaw thing in the past. Definitely challenges the concept of Snow that Disney has cornered the market with :P

If you don't already use it, I'd maybe suggest Semagic for the backdating. It's actually a pretty effective LJ desktop client once you get the hang of it. I used it to go back through all of my old entries and f-lock them.

Yeah, I was a little surprised with Snow's outlaw past. That was definitely an interesting way to change the story. Though now I do wonder how she and JamesCharming ended up getting married.

Oh yeah, I definitely have Semagic. I prefer using it to make posts than going into LJ lol. But lately Semagic's been kind of weird. Recently I can't access my history of posts, so I can't edit any of my older entries. Does that happen with you?

I recorded the same show but haven't watched it yet. I have heard it's very good though. I look forward to reading more of your writing!

It's pretty good from what I've seen ^^ I'm looking forward to more and seeing if it's worth continuous viewing lol

^^ Hopefully I'll have most of them up soon. Admittedly, some of them aren't going to be very good because they're old, but I figure since I had originally planned to use this as a writing journal anyway, I should post more of my writing haha.

Once Upon a Time is definitely one of the rare good new series they're showing--I usually don't care for new series at all, but this one has my attention.

I think the official ABC site should have the first two eps there for streaming, so you can catch up. ^^
