Author’s Note: Yay!! Another Anni challenge. My fanfiction writing is a bit rusty and hopefully I can do these characters some justice.

“Hey guys, check out what I found in my locker today,” said Usagi, looking gleefully as she waved a white envelope up in the air.
“What’s so great about an envelope?” mumbled Rei, sipping on her cream soda.
“It’s not just any envelope, I’ll have you know,” said Usagi knowingly. “It’s a-”
Before she could say any more, Minako interrupted her. “A love letter,” she guessed.
“Bingo,” nodded Usagi. “Score one for Minako.”
“So what does it say?” asked Minako curiously. “Open it,” she urged her friend.
Usagi opened the envelope and found a pink pastel-colored paper. It was a plain letter with a simple drawing of a bunny, but she was happy that her secret admirer knew that she liked pink.
“Dear Usagi-san,” she read aloud. “Ever since I first laid my eyes on you I slowly started to fall in love with you...”
“How romantic,” Minako sighed.
“Whenever I think of you my heart pound so fast. I get flustered, nervous whenever you pass me in the hallway. I want to say this to you in person...that ‘I like you’...but...Hey, what do you think you’re doing, you jerk?”
She couldn’t believe that Mamoru had the nerve to snatch her love letter away from her hands. “it’s okay,” Mamoru continued to read aloud where Usagi had stopped. “Because I know you’ll probably won’t see me that way so I decided to write my feelings down on paper. Signed your secret admirer.” Mamoru finished, smirking. “I think this guy is way out of your league, Odango.”
Usagi narrowed her eyes at him. “And why is that?”
“One did you even check the date? You’re a year behind,” informed Mamoru. Usagi snatched the letter back from his hand.
“No way! I just found this in my locker today,” exclaimed Usagi, scanning the top of the letter.
“Poor guy,” sighed Makoto. “He probably thinks that Usagi hates him because he didn’t get a response.”
“Two,” continued Mamoru. “I think this guy is a whimp.”
“No he’s not,” said Usagi defensively. “He’s a great guy. Romantic...unlike a certain jerk I know.”
“Putting your feelings on paper shows that he doesn’t really care about you,” scoffed Mamoru. “If he did he would say his feelings out loud, face-to-face. Get over it Odango, he’s probably moved on with another girl, however...”
“However...?” prompted Usagi, looking expectedly at him.
Mamoru could feel a blush creeping up to him. “Forget about this guy, Usagi. Wouldyouliketohavedinnerwithmetonight?”
Usagi blinked. “What?”
He cleared his throat. “Never mind.” Without another word, he stomped off to where Motoki was taking an order and plopped down to an empty table nearby.
“What was that about?” pondered Minako.
“I don’t know,” said Ami slowly.
“Did he just asked Usagi out for a date?” asked Makoto.
“Ahaha,” laughed Usagi nervously, wondering why her heart was pounding fast. “Yeah right.”
“It looks like he did,” said Rei, nodding. “He even called her by her first name,” she observed.
They sat in silence for a moment. “That’s impossible...impossible of possibles...there’s no way that jerk asked me out,” said Usagi. “I’m sure he was just making fun of me or he’s jealous because he hasn’t gotten a love letter before...”
As Usagi continued to make excuses the girl’s thought, ‘He definitely did ask you out Usagi, it’s just that you’re too dense to see the possibility. ‘
