Average number of Americans killed by peanut-related allergies per year: 50-100.
Estimated number of Americans killed by cigarette-related diseases, diet and lifestyle issues, and alcohol poisoning combined by the end of this year: 650 thousand or more.

Ah, so I guess the people we're fighting in Afghanistan and Iraq are just freedom fighters not terrorists right?

No. I won't deny what terrorists do is wrong. Just stating the irony of being so afraid of a group of people statistically worse at killing us than a simple peanut is. I mean, sure, terroists get their good years, but in the long run, its not really a very relevant fear. Do you see us shipping peanut butter manufacturers off to secret military prisons? No.

Its like the people who won't get on a plane, but will still drive their cars around, even though their more likely to die to a drunk driver than a plane crash. Coincidentally, unless you are ACTUALLY in an active war zone, both of those are orders of magnitude more likely than dying to a terrorist attack. This isn't even about money, why we're there, or anything. Just our fears are unbiased.
