Soooo….let’s just sweep the chaos of the last twenty-four hours aside for the moment…

Hi, internet! I have a new novella out! It is live and there are no more horrifying errors with chapter duplication! You should read it!

On Smashwords

On Amazon

It will propagate out to other sites when Smashwords gets around to it, so Nook, Kobo, and (god willing ( Read more... )

I know there are folks who call Amazon the Evil Empire of Selling Stuff, but compared to the atrocities of Nike (the Evil Empire of Shoes), Disney (the Evil Empire of Entertainment), Exxon/Mobil (the Evil Empire of Oil ... and that's sayin' summat!), Microsoft (the Evil Empire of Software), and the United States government (the Evil Empire of Evil Empires), Amazon's are relatively tame. Not insignificant, but I choose to pick my battles elsewhere for the time being.

I use Amazon for quite a lot, but I know a fair number of people who really don't want to give them money for perfectly valid reasons, so I'll do my best to offer alternatives.

The whole POINT of being an author is being able to work with no pants on.

Kind of like Charlton Heston, now that I think of it.

That was delightful. Exactly as promised--a fun, light read with fun characters. Your world-building is so wonderful...god I love the deer.

"This is a small epic fantasy, if that makes any sense. It is fun. And because I am starting to think such things need warnings, this story will not force you into painful personal growth, it will not tear your heart out, it will not unmake you. These characters are hopefully people you’ll want to spend a few hours with and maybe come back to occasionally when the world is being unkind…that’s all."

And that's already a lot. I just want to mention I downloaded your story this morning to read on my phone, right before going to a small but stressful medical procedure (they wanted to put a needle the size of a VAMPIRE STAKE in my boob !) and reading the (mis) adventures of a veterinian elf and nine goblins really took the stress out the situation.
So thank for that. I still have half the book to finish, but with public transport, it'll be a few days affair!

It is a joy to see a person get a story out and immediately have an audience for it. It is a joy to see you make money. Yes, we all feel that you deserve it.

Is there any way to buy it if you don't have an ereader? because I would really love to read this thing, so much.

Kindle has a free app which allows you to read any of Amazon's ebooks on your computer or smartphone, if that helps. I've got a Nook, so most of the ebooks I buy are from B&N, but every now and then there's something not available there so I order it from Amazon. I've never had a problem reading any of them on my computer.

In addition, Calibre is an app for reading stuff when the kindle is turned off, missing, etc.
