Application and Characters

The Application ProcessApproving people on the basis of their characters is a little superfluous in a game where your character is most likely going to change and no one can anticipate what the plot will require or prohibit. As such, in place of a traditional approval system, we'll be using a peer-review system. You are, de-facto, accepted, and ( Read more... )

Name: Artok
Age: Late 20s/Early 30s
Gender: Male
Character concept: Triad boss with a heart of bronze
Appearance: Artok is a tall, well-built bear of a man, whose blue-grey eyes and dark coloring give away his water tribe heritage. He carries himself with the easy, swaggering confidence befitting a well-known triad, with the air that nothing’s beyond the reach of his claws. He favors sensible, stylish clothing, and is rarely seen out of an expensive three-piece suit. He keeps himself well-groomed, his dark hair always slicked back across his head, to better display his handsome, if somewhat heavy, features. As large as the man is, and as easy as it is to imagine him pulling a knife out of one of the pockets he’s always got his hands stuffed in, there’s nothing in his eyes that suggests dumb, malignant muscle - it could be the glasses, but it’s more likely the sharp, impudent way he looks at people. Is Artok a bender?

Also, Sialuk is definitely a bar patron. May or may not pay protection money, or have him set up gambling on the Mongoose Dragons and other teams on the side, or other miscellaneous Triad fun.

Yeah. My original plan with him was promising pro-bender who fell on hard times due to family and started working as hired muscle in the triad to get 'em out, then just took to it. I'll probably keep shades of that in his back story.

Also yes to gamblin' and bar patronage. I figure there's a pretty big gambling racket built up around pro-bending -- I mean, why wouldn't there be? Probably sometimes pressure to throw a bout for it and all that good stuff, even, too.
