Mostly I'm posting this to force myself into action. You see, our dryer has a problem. A fire problem. It's not on fire, nor has it been on fire recently, but it smells like fire some of the time when it's running. Hey, I forget if you rent or own, but if you rent, that sounds like some sort of building code violation to me, and your landlord ought to be taking care of it. By which I mean, you ought to go ahead and figure out what's wrong, but document, document, document and then deduct from your rent.

I'd like to think your vent doesn't go "nowhere." Maybe it ends up inside John Malkovich's head?

I own, so the responsibility is either mine or the condo association's, probably mine. (I need to look at the docs.) I may knock a few bucks off my rent to keep myself quiet, though.
