Alligators more aggressive now then when he was a kid? Um... I think not. I have relatives in that area and they always warned me about the gators and told stories of yearly alligator attacks... and that was starting over 20 years ago.

And "God was with him"? So if he died god would have called him home, right? Maybe he should ask himself why his god didn't keep him safe in the first place.

Drunken swimming in the dark with gators... real smart there Bubba. Suuuuure it's the animal rights activist's fault. Keep telling yourself that.

What an idiot. So some fool who thinks drunk swimming near aligators is a good idea thinks he knows how to conduct a cull? FFS

I want to read the alligator newspaper where they talk about the continuing encroachment of delicious humans. Also, how did he know it was a bull alligator?

If I didn't have fifty other projects I haven't gotten to yet I'd be working on that paper already.

it's a shame they had to shoot and kill the alligator.

it was just doing nature's part to cull the overpopulated and aggressive humans invading its territory.

then again, possibly a mercy killing. it might have died from the food it ate. you have any idea what those humans eat? nasty!

so, is 18 legal to drink in florida? were they trespassing? sounds pretty sketchy to me.

the up side, as least, is that if the kid had DIED, they would have called for all the alligators to be purged. now? they just have a loud mouth idiot professing how idiotic he is. nice!

As far as I know, it's not legal for a 'teen' to drink anywhere in the U.S., and it strikes me as strange that it's not mentioned in the story anywhere.

i'll assume 18 is legal age for parenting purposes too.

if the kid was underaged, you'd see the police stepping in to arrest the parents, and cart the kid off to a foster family. for his own good ;)

a further dig into the new later might be amusing, to see if he sues the beer company, the owners of the reservoir, the township, PETA, or so on...

Yeah I thought it was a shame they killed it as well, I mean, like you say, it was just doing its thing?

And yeah, he must've been drunk. 'Yeah we stopped drinking at 6pm'. We've all used that one. Although, not necessarily in light of having lost an arm to an alligator...
