What I think is interesting is that all those other things with quills are insectivores, while the porcs aren't.

Also, the insectivorous quilled things are, without exception, dumb as dirt. (And yes, I've met a couple of echidnas, so I can make that generalization - not just hedgehogs.)

I knew an echidna once that had an obsession with shoes. Anyone who stepped into its pen would end up with an amorous echidna sniffing and and walking over and generally drooling all over their shoes - it was kinda cute.

Okay, I'm a little freaked out. Had no idea that there were porcupines with prehensile tails. What on earth do they use them for - hanging from branches? I knew "regular" porkies can climb trees, but...this will take some time for me to accept. O.o
