I'm not sure if this is American holly or European holly or some other sort of holly, but this is the tree in our front yard.

The tree itself is about 15 or so feet tall.

I find it fascinating that holly is not found in the woods here in Stoughton, but just 25 miles to the south in Middleboro, it is common. I used to go down to Middleboro to hunt, before the deer came here, and it was spectacular to be hunting in deep snow and come across the startling green and red colors of a thirty foot holly tree, the only color in the landscape. The deer seemed attracted to the holly as well, as their trails often crossed near these trees.
