These little newspapers are just starting to catch up with what I wrote in the last issue of The Urban Pantheist.

It may be gentrification beginning...as humans move out of the cities, due to urban blight, climbing crime rates, etc., the animals are hopefully planning to move in, clean up our mess, and make the cities liveable again.
Oh, wait- that would be a perfect world, wouldn't it?

Don't blame those guys at the NYT- they're too far from the problem!

I swear to God I'm going to jump down this cable modem and slap some sense into you if you don't get to pitching that damn column. You're an excellent writer and you're knowledgeable about your subject and it's an important subject that people are interested in. Go!

That might be what I need. Maybe I'll pitch a weekly column to the Globe: "Urban Nature Walk," or "The Nature of Boston," or some such. How does a nobody get an editor to actually read a column pitch? They must get a hundred crackpot pitches every week.

feeding bananas to a SEAL?

"Oh, it's vaguely fish shaped and the seal obviously isn't getting enough fruit in its diet!"

What's up with mellon rinds? I know my cat liked mellon. What is it about this particular fruit that attracts carnivorous types?

Definitely you should send your work in to publications to be considered. You write well (hell, you hold my attention, and that's practically impossible to do) and obviously, people enjoy reading your work.

I live in NYC, and we have deer on SI. I recently read about it.

I don't get the bananas and melon bit, either. Whodathunk?
