Have you seen the fake picture on facebook of the guy with a giant hornet on a leash (string) as a pet?

I have. At first I was excited, then sad when he said he ripped its stinger out, then it all made sense when it turned out it was fake.

i've taken out 3 nest this year, in places i need to work.

If you put up fake nests there every spring will it keep real wasps away?

Possibly--in that exact spot. I'll have to make a map of how close the 23 nests were scattered across the 72 acres of the zoo. I don't know how effective those fake nests are. They look like hornet nests to us, but who knows what they look like to the eyes of a hornet.
