Squirrel appreciation day

So I'm hearing from many on twitter that it's "Squirrel Appreciation Day." It's hard for me to think past the brush-tailed tree rats that chew through wood and plastic building materials and make my life more difficult, but I will try. *laughs* the squirrel is my spouse's totem animal. we have magnet he made depicting Sciurus iabervonus on our fridge :)

I love squirrels, despite that they ruin my garden and hog the birdfeeder. In fact, it was just on Squirrel Appreciation Day that they were nowhere to be seen (could have been due to the snow storm (end of the world, of course, according to news) or maybe they were just all partying in honor of their day ;)
