They are fascinating urban wildlife, and they are serious nuisance pests destroying wood and plastic structures, building nests in building cavities, and even stealing food from the zoo animals. Squirrels ARE funny. They're one of those animals that people seem to find inherently funny. I like thinking about what animals fit into that catagory, usually using Jhonen Vasquez and particularly Invader Zim as evidence, and trying to figure out what specifically is so funny about them. I usually have no luck.
