hehe I love it. one of my lecturers, who was rather deranged from conference paper writing, was sent that cartoon and was laughing manically (which is funny, because she's a meek and sedate type of person). So now I watch it and have fond memories. I wish it were my avatar - it's descriptive of me so often right now.
ahh I can absolutely sympathise with your dilemma. I'm a coeliac (gluten intolerant) who doesnt eat red meat, so I know what a bitch eating out can be. I hate it when you order something that looks ok, and it turns out you can't have it so you have to eat rabbit food instead. grr, it happens to me all the time. that sucks. Japanese or Thai restaurants would be a better bet for you, I reckon.
I'm not coeliac but I can't eat wheat or rye, and not ebing able to eat corn cuts out a lot of gluten free food. fortunately I can eat spelt flour. I don't know how you can handle no gluten whatsoever - i find this hard enough as it is. So basically when i go out, I eat sushi, salad, or soup. Or chips and noodles, but they don't start with 'S' so they get their own sentence.
Anyway, I'm thinking of writing to the Age Epicure section instead. To whoever designates the hats. NO hats for Vegie bar. Not that they had one anyway.
it's due to a lack of social skills on my behalf. it's also your fault for having cool friends. (kickin, killer, hella cool, DON'T CHA *shit*) damn emjoy. will i ever forgive her for that dastardly song?
Now seriously... I would avoid the veggie bar simply because of it's name. *shudders* I feel bad that you are allergic to so much good stuff though Bek
usually the veggie bar is quite a hit and miss affair. they do a good pizza.they do a really bad curry. they do an okay vegetable roast. they do fantastic noodles one week, followed by slurry the next.
one thing of consistency is their flour-less chocolate cake. worth every dime that is.
