stupid fucking keybord

I'm writing this from Semagic, one of those LJ update clients you can donload. I'm posting this way because my keyboard is being teh evol. It keeps doing this thing where a bunch of keys on one side don't want to work, including a couple I need to type my username & password. This is frustrating enough, because one of the keys that isn't working is ( Read more... )

Gods, how frustrating!

I've got a bad feeling since it's all the keys in that one area that there might be something broken in the wiring/whatever it is underneath the keys that actually transmits the keystrokes to the computer... Obviously that's not helping you at all, but maybe it's something you can get fixed at a Best Buy or something like that?

Yep, I'm afraid you might be right 'bout that, damnit. Can't really think what else it could be at this point, since I kno there's nothing stuck there, and I didn't spill anything... Ugh. I so do not need this right now. Prolly will try to get it in someplace this weekend.

Yeah. The fact that it spontaneously fixed itself last night makes me think it's a loose wire or something. Dunno how quick a fix that is, but I can't imagine it would be TOO hellish... I hope!

Yep, I think so, 'speclly as that's not the first time it hasn't worked- or the first time it's spontaniously gotten better ...& it's doing it again, right now. I'm c/p'ing letters again, which does not make happy Chris, lemmie tell ya. Ugh. Guess I know wht I'm doing with my spare time this morning at school.

Or, you know, if this is just a regular keyboard and not a laptop, you could get another one fairly inexpensively. Probably for the same cost as getting somebody to repair it.

Or you might could try going to the "hardware" tab under keyboard properties on your control panel and seeing if it says if the keyboard is having problems. There's also a troubleshooting button there.

Oh, if only. Nope, it's a laptop. Thanks for the tip about the control panel, though. It says the keyboard's working properly- hah!- but I'll see what the troubleshooter has to say.
