That is scary! I hope that is a telelense, because I know I would have been running (or probably paddling) away very fast.

I'm very fortunate in that where I am we're unlikely to flood. We lost power for exactly three hours tonight so I expect that's from load shedding - a practice where stressed power stations cut the power to neighbourhoods in small bursts.

I am very, very happy not to be in Gympie right now.

Tell me about it - salties hate people and are happy to eat their faces. We're looking fine here, but out towards the west they're a few metres underwater.

We're safe. Plenty of folk aren't. So long as I stay away from the river itself we should be fine. Of course, the flood is supposed to peak tomorrow night, so cross some fingers for me!
