Turkeys again.

I've posted a couple pictures of them before, but this time I happened to be able to get a lot closer. These turkeys have been roving my neighborhood since a couple years ago, and apparently now they're getting less skittish around humans. This is in a little stretch of mostly undeveloped property across the street from my house:

i love wild turkeys. I tend to see some in Boston.

I should have mentioned such in my post, but I'm actually a few miles from Boston, Malden if you've heard of it.

I've been there before. It's rather nice. Those turkeys are so cute. I saw some near a hospital on 2 occasions.

These are so cool!

I have only seen a wild turkey once, with my brother, right at the outskirts of the Meadowcroft Rockshelter in Avella, PA. We saw one just strutting across the road and my brother slammed on the brakes and was all like "WHAT THE HELL IS THAT??"

...he had evidently never seen a live turkey before. I had to explain to him that yes, that is the thing we cook a lot at home.

(My brother is not the most... erm... academic of individuals. Also, we grew up in DC. The most wildlife we get here is deer and pigeons.)
