Crow or Raven? Are those chin feathers normal for a Crow?

I would have thought rook, but then again rooks here usually have a paler coloured beak

I don't think we have resident populations of Rooks in North America. I could certainly be wrong on this... anybody out there know?

Lovely pic! I've always found black crows fascinating, 'cause here, all crows are black and grey, only the ravens are all black.. Black crows look like tiny wee ravens to me : )
