i was the same. seen the wizard of oz a million times but remembered the return to oz because its a lot darker. it was dark in my mind, but there def.

i literally JUST read the first book. there's like over 30 books in the oz series. the first few were by frank l. baum, and after that people kept writing.

dorothy is like ten or eleven in the first book, so she really is pretty young.

it was awesome. i read it in ebook form, so i would be more than happy to upload it for you if you want to read it. and if you don't read it soon, i recommend you read it eventually. :]

the girl in return to oz looks 8, no lie. haha. so that is young but not that young. but disney gets it wrong everytime. do what they want. though i did like judy garland as dorothy. yeah i saw there were a lot of books. i just want to ready the first few of the original dudes ones. id love to read it if you can upload it for me i would be so grateful. !

I love both the movies for different reasons. I think Dorothy is about 10 or 11 in the first book, so Return to Oz is a more accurate depiction of the character. I still love the original movie, though. I can't help but smile every time I see it.
