My Student loans are now in repayment as I'm only a part time student.

My Canada Student Loan monthly repayment amount for the next 9 years is $401.76

My Provincial Student Loan monthly repayment amount for the next 7 years is $117.

That's a monthly total of $518.76

ouch

I always made sure I stayed full-time.

With my Stats course only being offered in Surrey it contradicted Every other course I need. Since I only need 4 other courses to grad I was stuck with just the stats this term and finishing the other 4 next term on the hill.

Sadly that messes me up for student loans b/c of taking last term off to drive across Canada.

It was worth it though.

Interest Relief might be available. Might be worth looking into through the CSL program.

Interest relief isn't an option as I earn too much. I will just be paying the interest this term which is about half the original monthly estimate. Then it goes into hibernation again next term when I'm back to full time for my last semester.

Certainly a painful taste of what's coming though...

If you make under $2000 a month you can do interest relief. I was doing that while finishing my diploma as my two semesters were part time then I had my internship which they wouldn't consider full time.

I make more than that. Not enough to pay rent, tuition, and living costs but still, too much for interest relief and too much for another student loan.

We've got it set now to the interest only payments. It's causing me to re-evaluate my game plan for the next few years though in light of just how large these payments are going to be.

Ouch! Those repayments are harsh.

On a semi-related note, I saw a sign on a building near Denny's the other day advertising a job agency that focusses on the care sector. Do you want me to look it up for you or do you already have an agency lined up?
