1) What is your opinion of this character? If you like, explain why you like him/her.

I love Feferi Peixes. I am totally fond of Feferi. She's less fleshed-out than some of the other trolls, but I was always deeply fascinated by the hints one gets about her -- she's a mess of contradictions, and connecting her dots leaves you with a big picture of What The Fuck. She's the heir to the empire of a hyperviolent alien race who nonetheless somehow got the idea that she wants a liberal revolution ending the cruel and unnecessary parts of the regime. She's buoyant and bubbly but was raised by a fucking Horrorterror for a lusus and spent her whole childhood feeding it other people's parents. She's this bizarre Lovecraftian Disney princess, and if you pay close attention to her pesterlogs she's sort of -- sweet but not nice. She seems naïve, but more often she simply just doesn't give a shit: she's discomfiting, she's really disquieting, she is charming but unsettling as shit. Feferi may like hugs, but she is selfish, a seadweller, and

I ship Eridan and Feferi's messed-up relationship in a great many different ways; they are to me the major Failed Moirallegiance of Homestuck, much moreso than Vriska and Kanaya, and I have a massive soft spot for reading about them. I mean, they are a tragedy in that Eridan Ampora is a massive douchewizard who in the end came to terms with his life by not coming to terms and blowing a hole in the one thing he'd ever really loved, literally, and something that godawful I naturally have vested interest in

I do not regret asking this at all. You honestly seem to be one of the only- if not the only- person in fandom who's put this much thought into Feferi. Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if you put more thought into Feferi than Hussie has himself considering that she hands down has the least development of any of them.

However, I love your interpretation of her because it's all so organically extrapolated from the canon.

Oh, Rose, Rose, Rose, Rose Lalonde. I fell in love with Rose from the moment she appeared, which was difficult as I had already ascertained that I was going to love John Egbert until the police came to take me away and make sure I never lived within a hundred miles of a school

(romance-wise or platonic)I ship Rose in so many ways I have a fleet on my hands, but my one true pairing for Rose -- which I define as the "favourite pairing for both characters" -- is Rose/Kanaya. They are both so elegant and assured of their own self-assuredness, so chill, so not, so girls with the weight of the world on their shoulders. To me, the chemistry any time they talk is nigh-on embarrassing. They are two people who rarely have to do the dance of talking to someone whose intellect matches theirs, so they talk with this kind of -- suspicion and surprise and trying to see where the trick is, and there's also this genuine pleasure in each other's company that I love to bits. They would be the most passive-aggressive couple of all time, but it's also one of the first Burn Up The World f/f ships I've seen fandom really get into, and there is a reason for that. They Are On Fire. I ship

I would give Rose a hug, tell her it gets better, tell her to stop it with the long gothy skirts honey you're going to start covering yourself in mascara by the time you're sixteen and have a lot of Cruxshadows and Vast CDs and it'll be hard by the time you enter Berkeley and everyone assumes you have a three-wolf-moon shirt. Easily.

I would rec Homestuck just for Rose Lalonde. I think my first reccing of Homestuck was actually someone saying "READ THIS JUST FOR ROSE LALONDE," and I did, and here we are.

Kanaya Maryam: priss-mouthed devotee of fashion, duty and being one of the only really sensible people around, who thinks about other people before she thinks about herself and has gotten into a rut due to it, whose head is a very private ridiculous oasis of all her desires and secrets and trashy vampire literature. Her weapon is a GODDAMNED CHAINSAW. She performed IMPROMPTU AMPUTATION ON ONE OF HER PEERS without TURNING A HAIR. She is so polite that when she got murdered she had to return the favour

I am also into Kanaya♦Karkat (best moirails ever -- seriously, these two have the cutest interaction of all time, she is like a sensible tranquilizer and he's flailing and all STOP BEING SO FUCKING FUSSY JUST CALM YOUR SHIT DOWN TROLL JESUS CHRIST). If anyone needs a moirail like Kanaya, it's Karkat. As mentioned in my Rose write-up I have a weird love for Eridan/Kanaya/Rose and I am the only person in the world who ships it, it's okay, it's coo', weird threesome is weird. I really liked her interaction with Eridan, and it was obvious Eridan was so pathetically grateful that for some arcane reason Kanaya Maryam was pitying him enough to take him on as a friend even if he was just part of her joke, that he would have reached out and tried to help her do what she needed to and assisted with the Matriorb and stood in her corner, only when he fucked up his life I think he saw Kanaya as representative of one of the only good things he'd done and had to destroy her too. Eridan does not do things by halves. I think she liked his intelligence
