Three icons I just made, I'm trying to figure out how to make lovely icons like you all make.

It's hard though. At least I'm getting used to the tiny 100 by 100.

That third manip is so cute! I love that you're playing with textures now! I found it a little odd at first to get used to, but eventually I started to figure it out.

I did look at one tutorial that taught me about the different overlays you can do with a layer... I use the 'screen' one most of all in photoshop. I'm not sure if Gimp has the same option, though!

These are great, chick! I love them! Most especially the third-I think it touches all our shippy hearts!

This sounds awesome! Yea I've played with the gradients and colors a little bit. I'm still trying to figure out how to color/tint the images a little more. I need to look at some tutorials for that! so sorry I've been SO slack about responding to comments. It was a busy, busy week!

Hey don't worry about responding back, I'm very busy myself can totally understand!

I believe that in icon making you learn the most by just playing with the different tools, while making mine, I learned so much more.
It's relaxing and real fun!

I liked the second one best too, although it didn't look like it when I had just finished it.
The other ones were a bit darker than I had imagined them to be.

These are lovely and they look like you've been doing icons for a long time! Textures are awesome to play with aren't they? :-)

I have made a few icons before, but they weren't that good.
So yesterday was my first serious attempt.
After these three I made sixteen more, they will be posted Sunday.

And indeed yeah for textures and brushes!
