Kizuna
Meeting you was the miracle I expected.

“Ohayo”
Jin doesn’t answer. Of course not. Kame sighs. He leaves the bedroom and goes to the kitchen. Let’s get breakfast ready. He sets the table. The nice smell of coffee tickles his nose and makes him smile. Jin will come later. He knows how much the other one likes to stay in bed. Finally, Kame is ready to go to work. From the door and loud enough to reach the bedroom, he says:
“Itte kimasu, I’m leaving now. Your breakfast’s on the table love. Meet you at the shooting.”

He remembers how angry he felt at the beginning - when he learnt Jin wouldn’t go on tour with the rest of them. Part of him felt betrayed. But everything’s back to the normal now.

“Kame are you ok?” Ueda asks, worried.
The young man looks at him in surprise.
“Yes, of course. I’m fine Tat-chan. Why shouldn’t I be?”
“Well-” Ueda starts but he’s stopped by Koki shaking his head slowly. “Anyway, remember we’ll always be by your side.”
His friends are truly the best, he thinks. They’re so nice. But really he’s fine. So Jin’s not going on tour with them. No big deal.

What happened the rest of the day, he doesn’t even remember. All he knows he’s that he’s feeling very tired and he’s only too happy to be back home.
He enters their flat. Tears start rolling silently down his cheeks and he falls on his knees. His heart’s aching so much. It’s just so painful he’s not sure he can go on.
He hasn’t switched on the lights but even in the dark he can clearly see nothing’s moved from the breakfast table. Casting a glance at the bedroom door he just knows no one’s inside.
It’s too hard.
“Why didn’t you tell me?” he whispers “Why-?”
For Jin’s not by his side anymore and will never be again. For he’s left him - forever.
Kame can’t stop crying.

He remembers how angry he felt when he learnt Jin wouldn’t go on tour with them.
He remembers how angry he felt when he discovered it was because his lover was silently dying alone at hospital.
“Jin- why didn’t you tell me?”
“Sorry love, I thought it’d be easier that way…”
“As if it could be easy! - I can’t imagine my life without you...”
All what’s left now is despair and a hole in his heart. A part of himself died along with Jin and he knows he won’t be able to love ever again.

This bond we share will never disappear.
