Crazy love - the ghost drabble (3)
Do you remember how it feels being seventeen and in love? Right now he does. He can’t stand still. He woke up very early this morning and is now waiting at Roissy Charles de Gaulle airport.
“Urameshiyan〜”
“Is it your way to say hi?” the young man smiles. “What are you doing here?”
“Haunting the airport. I love airports - the feeling you can go anywhere” the ghost sighs. “So what time does your boyfriend arrive?”
“He’ll be here in a few minutes I suppose.”
“You look very happy. It suits you.”
“Thanks. I hope Kame will enjoy Paris.”
“I’m sure you’ll both have a great time. Have fun!”
Jin sees the ghost disappear. His heart is beating really fast… What’s that noise? Oh, his phone is ringing…
“Moshi moshi?”

When the ghost reappears, Jin is alone in his bedroom. He’s crying.
“He said he didn’t go on the plane. It was too hard - He told me…”
The ghost moves closer.
“He told me it was too painful being with me.”
The young man looks very sad which is understandable and doesn’t come as a surprise - what does is that the ghost looks sad too but keeps silent.
“My heart aches - it’s aching so much. I love him so much. Without him, really there’s no point - I wish I were dead.”
The ghost slaps him on the face. He stops crying and looks at it wide-eyed. He didn’t know the ghost could do that.
“Don’t you ever wish for that!”
“I- Sorry” he simply says. “It’s just so hard thinking it’s over…”
“Did he say it’s over?”
“Er -”
“Did he actually use those words?” the ghost repeats.
Jin is totally taken aback.
“No, but what he said was enough to -”
The ghost sighs.
“I don’t think your boyfriend doesn’t love you. So stop being silly for a moment. The fact he couldn’t get on the plane doesn’t mean he didn’t want to.”
“I don’t know what to do or think anymore though…”
He could do with a glass of wine right now. Crap. And he doesn’t even like wine.
“A Bordeaux rosé would be nice.”
“Are you reading my mind?”
“Maybe” the ghost winks and becomes serious again. “How did it start?”
“Pardon?”
“Your relationship?”
“Oh - Actually I was quite pissed off at first because Kame and I’d been friends like forever and suddenly he confessed to me. I…”
Even now he still feels ashamed of the way he behaved at the time.
“… I rejected him - Though I didn’t want to hurt him too much so I left to the US.”
“You’re always escaping that way, aren’t you love?”
“Well-”
“And what happened next?”
“When I came back I just realized it had to be him. He’s the one.”
“That’s sweet… but as you never told him how you felt, no wonder he’s feeling so insecure.”
Jin takes a sip of Bordeaux. What the ghost says makes sense. He’s been with Kame for two years, he’s crazy about him and yet he only told him his true feelings two days ago.
“To think a ghost made me realize I’ve been a fool… Do you think there’s still a glimmer of hope?”
“A glimmer of hope - wine turns you into a poet, doesn’t it? Well, at least I’d say there’s room for hope, sweetie〜”
“I should call him-” Jin picks up his phone.
“Wait! What would you say then?”
The young man stops, unable to find a clever thing to answer.
“See, why don’t you write him a letter?”
“A letter? Where’re you from? the Dark Ages?”
The ghost pouts.
“If you don’t want my help…”
“No, sorry. Please stay. Talking to you makes me feel better and actually writing a letter may not be a bad idea. I just need some inspiration.”
“Let’s have some Piper Heidsieck then!”

A/N: Jin seems to like wine more and more. Is he going to be able to write Kame a nice letter (especially after drinking the champagne!)? I wonder…
