Kari, I agree with ^^ him. Alternatives are overlooked by colleges, even art schools, where you are going to get that photography degree.

and about the tattoo.
think about when you are 76 years old...and you have a tattoo on (insert body part here) upon the old saggy skin.

well for one im not going to college and I'm not going to be a photographer, I cant make it as one. It's been my dream forever but thats all its going to be is a dream... and the tattoo i will wear with pride when im old becuz its a part of me and how i was.
