Jamie knocks ostentatiously on the side of the desk.

"Hullo? Earth to Helen!"

Helen's jaw clenches, and she looks up, hair half-falling out from her right ear.

"What?"

She's busy studying the theoretical inter-planar ripples caused by mass catastrophe, Jamie.

Gee whiz.

"We've got a problem," Jamie says, taking a step backwards to lean against one of the tall shelves.

Helen sets her ballpoint down, tilting her head slightly at him.

"Did Joris do something?"

You could ask why Trowa's in the library.

He probably wouldn't answer, though.

(Knowing Trowa, 'habitual reconnaissance' is likely to be at least a part of the answer he's not giving.)

Most libraries, for example, don't have multiple shelves devoted to Multiversal Theory (Texts Only).

Trowa glances from this shelf over to Helen, impassively. Presumably this is a response.
