I wrote a thing

So. I was having a shitty day yesterday, and to make myself feel better, I made a fic journal for the stuff I write in English: i-wrote-a-thingI'm still setting it up (I have about 20 stories yet to crosspost, so if you want to watch it, you might not want to do it just now -- I'll let you guys know a few days after I finish, so that adding it doesn't flood your ( Read more... )

Lately I've been posting so much fic that I'm starting to feel bad for the part of my flist that doesn't read D/E porn

Death.

It's starting to get embarrassing, okay?

I would like to still see your fic on this journal, so I'd go for the crosspost idea, or maybe you could do round-up posts occasionally so there are still links to the fics on this journal.

Edit: I just looked at your new comm. the tags are all shiny. I'm having tag feels. I will probably go around tagging all my stuff now.

I'll keep that in mind :D. Round-ups sound like a good idea, I haven't thought of that! I'll definitely do that if I decide to move all the writing to the fic journal.

Ugh, I just can't decide. On one hand: 1) I feel bad about the amount of fic spam I'm producing; 2) the dork in me loves having ALL THE TAGS that help to browse and make quite interesting stats, actually. On the other hand, it's a bit of a pain in the ass for those of you who actually read my stuff.

It's not really a pain in the ass, all we have to do is add the comm. if we want to, that takes less than five seconds. And it does make for excellent browsing with all the lovely tags.

I'm an archivist ;). I'm glad you enjoy the shininess! I keep thinking if I should add any more tags...

Come on, you don't suck! I'm just a weirdo who makes tags to make herself feel better ;). Let's see how I deal with regular updates. Right now, I'm mostly hyper about how new and shiny it is.

Having a separate journal for fic/icons/graphics/misc. made my life so much easier. I think it took me a few years to really hammer out a tagging system that works for me (and hooboy did it help when I did a community import over at Dreamwidth!) and I'm proud of myself for sticking with it. Also, it's helped for consistency in formatting, as well, since I can go back and easily see how I've done icon or fanmix posts before. (And year tags help if there's ever a 'Best Of' activity you want to join.) Good luck!

Thanks :).

I'm thinking about adding year tags; if not for any other purpose, than to see how many stories a year I write on average? Stats are crack ;).

Crossposting? Or could do a weekly or monthly round up of links on your personal journal, linking to where you posted in your fic journal?

Right now, I'm leaning towards the idea that I could keep the fic journal as a place for EVERYTHING I write (including random snippets, an embarrassing number of prompt fics etc), crosspost here the stuff I like better / is maybe possibly longer than 300 words + from time to time make round ups of links for the stuff I don't crosspost.

Sounds like a good plan.
