The gilded cages of Byzantium

Note: This is a poem that has taken me almost a year to write. I think it's the child in me that loves the mythical elements of this poem. it's a wonderful idea and very well executed.

When the day seems particularly dreary, and people want to fit me into a neat little box, this poem is what I will whip out & read to put the magic back into life. ♥.
