LJ is definitely under periodic DDOS attacks as of late. As to exactly who is doing it or why, I think there isn't yet a clear and reliable answer -- although some people are speculating that there's a political basis, because of Russian activists blogging here, and others think it's an attack on the company and/or spammers' retaliation. IDK.
