Hey there,

I'm currently in the process of recieving my Honours B.Sc with Specialization in Psychology, with a minor in Biology, going into my second year of studies full time. See if any of the labs on campus hire undergrad research assistants. That will help you get some research experience as well as some money.

I was going to suggest that. Also depending on where you live there may be private organizations looking for assistants in your field. Realistically a lot of those kinds of jobs involve getting everyone's bagel orders but it looks really good on a resume.

If you can't find a part-time job in your area of interest, think about doing some volunteer work. I'm a poli sci major; can't afford to go without a job during the summer, but couldn't find a paid internship in my area or in my field for this summer. Instead I'm volunteering on the reelection campaign for my local state rep, and I'm working directly with the candidate and his campaign manager. A friend of mine who wants to go to medical school is volunteering at a hospital. A volunteering position on top of a regular job and school can show that you're hardworking, etc, and willing to go the extra mile to get experience.
