He started growing that when he joined the navy back in 1970 or 1971. It was a kind of protest I think.

That was the last time he shaved.

Good story you tell of your brother, there. We all need people like that in our lives and, hopefully, we can be that person for someone too.

I know this is fairly late to the party, but since you have so many fond memories of the man and he seems like he was quite a character, is there a story behind his nickname?

I think we need more people like Regis there.

He attended a Catholic school called Regis before he ended up in the public schools.
