Agreed, toll roads do suck! Here's something interesting about E-470, though. It's a /private/ toll road. That's right, it's owned by a private company that's making money off it. Granted, they also have their own plows and their own maintenance, but otherwise, it's a for-profit private business. Perhaps this is why I'm not as iffy about taking it to the airport or other places, though they do need to re-do their toll booths so you don't have to stop 15 times to pay small tolls along the road. x.x

San Antonio is another place, from what my brother tells me, that is fighting the toll road problem. There are plans to try to make 281 a toll road, which would mean that he would have to pay every time he comes out of his subdivision to go into town. Now that just plain sucks.

I noticed a stretch of I-35 that had a billboard saying that a private firm maintained that part of the interstate. What? You know that Texas is bound to collect enough taxes to pay for road maintenance. Almost makes me glad that I won't be around by the time most of this stuff really gets built. Sheesh.
