this entire post is in no way fabricated

OK, guys, it's confession time. I've been fooling you all. Every time someone starts talking about their rage & frustration about the events that have transpired during seasons 6-8 I've played along. The thing is, I have no idea what anyone is talking about. In New Zealand, Smallville ended with season 5 (sort of, but I'll get to that in a moment). To be honest, everything I've heard about seasons 6-8 sound like the fevered dreams of a madman. So to clear my thoughts of the awful things you guys have been subjected to, I like to listen to my own Chloe fanmix. It only covers the official seasons 1-5.

Now, a couple of months after season 5 ended, they aired a two-part mini-series. I was stunned to find no one else on my flist had seen it. It was amazing. The first part covered Clark's escape from the Phantom Zone & his return to earth to deal with Lex/Zod. Chloe survived, hiding in the Daily Planet with teenaged Jimmy Olsen she'd helped escape the rioting. The first part ended with Clark leaving to restore the Fortress and start his training - his battle with Zod had been difficult (and the effects were fantastic!) and left Clark with a definite sense of purpose about his future. He tells Chloe not to wait for him & then lays one hell of a kiss on her - not the least bit fair!

Anyway, part two opens 5 years later. Chloe's worked her way up the ladder at the Daily Planet (also during the opening sequence we see a shot of Martha on TV at press conference with Lois as her head of staff). Clark arrives at the Planet for an interview with Perry White (a very funny scene - he still suspects something is up with Clark). Anyway a lot has changed - Chloe's pretty hard on Clark, she's still not happy with the way he up & left; young Jimmy Olsen has just joined the staff as a photographer & has a hopeless crush on Chloe; Lex & Lana are married (BTW - Kristin Kreuk is a revelation as Mrs Luthor - she has a very Lady Macbeth feel about her). So the basic storyline is Clark developing his Superman persona - he actually attempts to hide it from Chloe at first but she's onto him pretty quickly - and stopping Lex from his nefarious doings. Oh, and the final scene - amazing. Let's just say it involves Chloe, Clark in his suit, the Daily Planet rooftop & oh, yeah, flying.

So, I thought I'd put together a bonus disk for Chlark with the mini-series in mind.
